Google Cloud introduces enterprise AI agent platform at Next 2026, with marketing deployment showing 70% cut in turnaround times and higher conversions

Google Cloud has used its Next 2026 conference in Las Vegas to unveil a suite of enterprise AI tools aimed at helping large organisations scale AI operations across their business functions.

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, said in his keynote at the event: "When we gathered at Next a year ago, we talked about how generative AI was transforming organisations around the world.

โ€œToday, that future is in-production โ€“ the Agentic Enterprise is real โ€“ and deployed at a scale the world has never before seen."

According to Google Cloud, the company's first-party models currently process more than 16 billion tokens per minute through direct API usage, up from 10 billion one quarter earlier.

This significant increase reflects growing adoption of AI-driven applications across enterprise environments.

The product launches include the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, Gemini Enterprise app, Agentic Data Cloud, Agentic Defense and an Agentic Taskforce.

Google Cloud also introduced its eighth-generation Tensor Processing Units for accelerated training workloads.

Enterprise platform addresses scale challenges

Google launched Gemini Enterprise last autumn as an integrated system connecting data, personnel and business objectives. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, described it as "the connective tissue between your data, your people and your goals."

The platform achieved 40% growth in paid monthly active users during the first quarter of this year.

Sundar said: "Through this rapid growth, we've seen how every employee in every organisation can become a builder. This is an incredible shift, but it comes with complexity.

โ€œThe conversation has gone from 'Can we build an agent?' to 'How do we manage thousands of them?' That's why we're introducing our new Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. It provides the secure, full-stack connective tissue you need to build, scale, govern and optimise your agents with confidence โ€“ a mission control for the agentic enterprise."

The platform functions as a centralised control system designed to simplify governance whilst optimising performance across large-scale deployments in various industries.

Security tools target AI threats

Google Cloud introduced three specialised agents for its Security Operations platform. The Threat Hunting agent focuses on identifying novel attack patterns and adversary behaviours.

A Detection Engineering agent, available in preview, can identify gaps in security coverage and create new threat detections. A Third-Party Context agent will provide additional context from external sources.

Francis deSouza, COO at Google Cloud and President of Security Products, says: "Not only can Google action insights from the world's largest threat observatory and Mandiant frontline experts, but we also bring cutting-edge insights and breakthroughs from Google DeepMind, to help make your platforms more secure. Today we are introducing three new agents in Google Security Operations to help you defend at the speed of AI."

Following Google's acquisition of Wiz earlier this year, the companies have combined Wiz's Cloud and AI Security Platform with Google's Threat Intelligence capabilities.

Wiz's AI Application Protection Platform offers security measures from code to cloud to runtime, designed for multicloud, hybrid and AI environments.

Internal adoption demonstrates business impact

Google has deployed AI tools across its own operations, providing data on practical applications.

Sundar says: "We've been using AI to generate code internally at Google for a while. Today, 75% of all new code at Google is now AI-generated and approved by engineers, up from 50% last fall."

Within Google's marketing function, AI tools have enabled teams to produce creative assets at scale. The company reports a 70% reduction in turnaround times and increased conversion rates, though specific figures were not provided.

The eighth-generation TPUs are built for both training and inference workloads, with the ability to scale across thousands of units.

Google Cloud positions these infrastructure improvements as necessary for supporting the next generation of enterprise AI applications across various business functions and deployment scenarios.
