Rob Reilly, Global Chief Creative Officer of WPP, said that the media giant's LIA performance was 'a heck of a way to cap the year'

A number of WPP agencies have received global and regional honours at the 2026 London International Awards (LIA), ending a year described by WPP as a “standout” for creative excellence.

Standouts included Ogilvy being named Global Network of the Year, VML UK, London, taking home Global Agency of the Year and WPP Media being named Global Media Network of the Year.

Agencies within Ogilvy were also recognised across Asia, Europe, North America, Middle East & Africa and South America.

“This is a heck of a way to cap the year,” says Rob Reilly, Global Chief Creative Officer of WPP. “But awards like these matter because they recognise the thing our clients need more than ever: ideas that are impossible to ignore.

“AI can help our people explore more possibilities, develop stronger ideas and bring them to life faster. What it cannot commoditise is human taste, craft, judgement and the courage to do something genuinely different.

“As every business races towards peak tech, creativity becomes the ultimate differentiator. The premium on a breakthrough idea isn't falling. It's rising.”

Honours on a global scale

This is Ogilvy’s sixth consecutive LIA Global Network of the Year title, with the agency also receiving Regional Network of the Year honours in both Asia and South America. Ogilvy Singapore was also named Regional Agency of the Year for Asia.

Meanwhile, VML was named Regional Network of the Year in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and North America, while VML UK was recognised as European Agency of the Year and VML North America as North American Agency of the Year.

In particular, the ‘KitKat Heist’ – a campaign created by VML London and Burson following the real-life theft of 12 tonnes of KitKats – won three Grand LIAs in Creativity and Media, Evolution and Non-Traditional.

Other highly recognised work included the Lucky Fan Index from VML Warsaw, Beat Cancer Off from VML New York and After Shit Happened Service from VML Bangkok.

Continued recognition for WPP

This recognition follows WPP’s take-home at the 2026 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, where the company was awarded 140 Lions, making it the most awarded media group at the festival for the second year in a row.

These awards spanned one Titanium Lion – which it received for its ‘Oreo Cows’ campaign – seven Grand Prix, 29 Gold, 40 Silver and 63 Bronze.

Ogilvy and VML were named the number one and number two Creative Networks of the Year, while Burson, WPP’s global public relations division, was named PR agency of the year.

“Across the festival, our agencies brought home 140 Lions, including a Titanium Lion and 7 Grand Prix,” Cindy Rose, CEO of WPP, said of the company’s performance at the time. “This isn't just about awards; it's about delivering brave, ambitious work that drives real growth for our clients.

“From Oreo's Titanium-winning campaign that boosted sales by 12%, to the clever AI in VML Poland's Grand Prix-winning work for Wisła Kraków, our work is making a tangible impact.”
