Sky Media UK Appoints Greg Brooks as Head of Marketing

Sky Media UK has recently appointed Greg Brooks as its new Head of Marketing after the departure of Abbey Kickham.
In his new role, Greg will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, operating model and priorities for Sky Media’s business to business (B2B) marketing function in the UK.
Greg explains his excitement towards being appointed as the new Head of Marketing, sharing: “there’s never been a more dynamic time to be in advertising. The industry is reinventing itself at pace and Sky Media is right at the heart of that transformation.”
By working closely with its leadership team, Greg will strengthen and solidify Sky Media’s position as one of the UK’s leading premium media owners and advertising partners. He will support marketing decisions that reflect the company’s innovation, effectiveness and value it delivers to advertisers.
Greg’s appointment will leverage his marketing expertise
Prior to joining Sky Media, Greg brings a strong track record for building and leading global marketing teams at services businesses that have delivered commendable results for the clients including: Nike, Unilever, Rolex and Ford.
He has also strengthened the positioning for some of the industry’s most influential organisations while driving growth and revenue over the last two decades.
More recently, Greg has spent more than a decade at the global media agency Mindshare, where he served as Global Chief Marketing & Culture officer for more than 12 years.
Responsible for leading the central marketing and communications function while providing direction and support for national level marketers across the globe, he oversaw the marketing frameworks and agenda for agency promotion to drive growth and brand recognition.
Mindshare’s global brand refresh in 2021 was also under Greg’s leadership, where he introduced a new positioning, visual identity and digital presence, while directing the agency’s global communications through groundbreaking moments including the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war.
Is the sky the limit for Sky Media’s Marketing Director?
Greg says that his previous marketing leadership experience will strengthen his capabilities in the role, adding: “I’m excited to bring my experience of building high-performing B2B marketing teams to the business, helping set a clear strategic direction and ensuring our marketing has a meaningful commercial impact.”
Following his appointment as Head of Marketing, Greg says he plans to set out clear goals for the company, which he hopes will be achieved during his time in the role. Being involved with a company shaping the future of premium advertising is anything but easy, however, Greg says he is determined to continue Sky Media’s reputation and its legacy within the industry.
“Greg is exactly the kind of leader we need as we enter our next chapter. Premium video is evolving rapidly, technology is unlocking new possibilities for advertisers and trusted content has never been more valuable,” Karin Seymour, Client and Marketing Director at Sky Media comments.
