ServiceNow Appoints New Chief Marketing Officer
Simon Mouyal has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer of ServiceNow, effective immediately.
With more than 25 years of enterprise marketing experience, Simon has held marketing leadership positions across the SaaS, cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure sectors. He succeeds Colin Fleming, who left the company to take on a role as Chief Marketing Officer, Business at OpenAI in June.
“I'm looking forward to working with our Marketing and Communications team to supercharge our pipeline, scale market leadership across the full breadth of our platform – from CRM and IT Operations to Security & Risk, HR, Finance and Supply Chain, App Development and Digital Business Transformation – amplify our brand momentum and help our customers see what's possible with agentic AI at scale.” Simon writes, commenting on his appointment on LinkedIn.
CMO leadership experience
Simon most recently held the Chief Marketing Officer position at Armis, which was acquired by ServiceNow for US$7.75bn in April. In this role, he focused on translating complex technology challenges into specific market positions, helping to drive market expansion and brand loyalty.
Prior to this, he spent close to four years as the Chief Marketing Officer for CyberArk, nearly three years as the Chief Marketing Officer for athenahealth and three and a half years as the Chief Marketing Officer for Medidata Solutions.
He also spent eight years at Microsoft and nearly three years at HP where he led digital transformation initiatives and growth across emerging markets in Asia-Pacific and Europe.
“Simon is a proven category leader who knows how to turn breakthrough innovation into market leadership,” says Bill McDermott, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ServiceNow. “He combines deep expertise in cybersecurity with world-class storytelling to build iconic brands, showcase value and supercharge demand.”
A ‘defining moment’ for ServiceNow
According to Bill, Simon joins ServiceNow at a “defining moment,” for the company, as enterprises “around the world turn to ServiceNow as the AI control tower for business reinvention”.
His appointment comes as ServiceNow accelerates AI demand and looks to define itself as the fastest growing major enterprise software and cybersecurity company – with the company reporting 21% overall growth in its second quarter results.
“The rules of enterprise AI are being written,” Simon notes. “After years in tech, health-tech and particularly in cybersecurity, I've watched how the market shifts when a new paradigm emerges. Agentic AI is that shift. Every organisation is asking the same question: How do we run autonomous workflows safely and at scale?”
In his role as Chief Marketing Officer, Simon will be supporting this growth by overseeing the company’s full global marketing and communications organisation.
“I've seen firsthand how enterprises are overwhelmed by a patchwork of applications and security tools stitched together but unable to discover, secure and govern the AI chaos,” says Simon. “ServiceNow's unified AI Platform approach to orchestrating agentic workflows, with enterprise context and control, is fundamentally different. This is precisely what makes this moment so special – in this AI era, we’re focused on substance over hype, on proven value.
“I'm excited to join ServiceNow’s elite marketing and communications team to help customers and partners translate this once-in-a-generation paradigm shift into business impact.”
