The PGA TOUR has a new sponsor

AbbVie has been named the Official Pharmaceutical Sponsor of the PGA TOUR and the 2026 Presidents Cup.

Through this new partnership, the company has introduced a multi-year, purpose-driven campaign called ‘Birdies for Brain Health’ which AbbVie is using to raise awareness and advance support for both people living with brain health conditions and their care partners.

The campaign launches at the 2026 Presidents Cup, and begins with a donation in recognition of the more than one in three people globally who are affected by a neurological disorder, according to the World Health Organisation’s ‘Global Status Report on Neurology’.

According to AbbVie, this donation will be shared between six patient advocacy organisations that are advancing science, awareness and support across migraine, mental health conditions and Parkinson’s disease.

“Through our latest partnership, Birdies for Brain Health, a multiyear, purpose-driven campaign, we’re working to elevate awareness and support people living with conditions that affect brain health,” Tracie Haas, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs of AbbVie, said of the campaign on LinkedIn.

AbbVie's multi-year campaign

In order to bring this marketing campaign to life, AbbVie is working closely with Gary Woodland, a US captain’s assistant for the 2026 Presidents Cup, and a 2019 US Open Champion.

Gary also underwent a craniotomy in 2023 in order to remove a benign brain lesion, and has since spoken publicly about the physical, mental and emotional challenges he has faced over the course of his recovery – sharing that it was important to “keep fighting” in March 2026 after his first PGA TOUR win since the surgery.

“Purpose and community impact have long been part of the PGA TOUR's identity, and AbbVie Birdies for Brain Health gives us a meaningful way to build on that legacy,” says Dan Glod, PGA TOUR Executive Vice President of Corporate Partnerships
