What happens when pizza, collectible pizza boxes and exclusive merch combine? A collaboration between Minecraft and Domino’s forms, of course.

Launched 26 October,  Domino’s is teaming up with “Minecraft Dungeons II”, the latest installment of the video game franchise.

With the opportunity to win collectible boxes and in-game cosmetics when gamers purchase a Domino’s pizza, the limited-time partnership aims to boost sales and awareness for both brands.

Pizza night: upgraded

Those that game often look for food that is easy and convenient to eat in between games, so teaming up with Domino’s is an intentional, culturally relevant partnership.

Kate Trumbull, Domino’s Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, says: “Minecraft Dungeons II is all about teaming up with friends for epic adventures and the Domino is built for those same moments. With its block shape, playful spirit and perfect-for-gaming format, the Domino felt right at home in the Minecraft Dungeons II universe.”

Domino’s Rewards Members that purchase a pizza online can unlock one of three randomised cosmetic items which can be used in the video game. With a Domino’s inspired character skin, the Slice Slayer Cape or a Cheesy Cube Pet to accompany customers in-game, the exclusive incentives aim to build on Domino’s strong loyalty program, which currently has over 37 million active users globally.

Additionally, Domino’s is also giving away 2,000 digital copies of Minecraft Dungeons II every day until 4 November to customers who submit proof of their pizza purchase.

A strategy – reinvented

2026 has seen a marketing push from Domino’s, sustaining its growth from the previous years.

A key segment of Domino’s marketing is its strategic digital personalisation. Analysing purchasing behaviours and personal information means the brand can tailor certain promotions to different groups.

It has been designed so that through the app, a university student could be sent a late night discount, whereas a busy parent receives a notification for a family meal deal bundle. Every interaction between brand and consumer is tailored to a lifestyle, wants and demands.

Its Domino’s Rewards program also builds customer loyalty outside of the collaboration with Minecraft with exclusive deals, loyalty stamps which eventually lead to a free pizza and personalised offers that create repeat engagement and purchases.

Now teaming up with Minecraft, Domino’s is expanding its market segment and strengthening its brand awareness within the gaming market. The partnership is expected to increase sales for Domino’s and engagement for Minecraft, building a mutually beneficial brand deal with a fun, unique twist.
