Masco Appoints First Ever CMO
Masco has taken a bold leap towards building a stronger brand identity by appointing Brad Hiranaga as its first ever Chief Marketing Officer.
Reporting directly to CEO Jon Nudi, Brad will serve as a member of the Executive Committee and oversee all marketing operations across Masco’s brand portfolio, accelerating its digital presence and capability as well as strengthening Masco’s connection to the customer.
One of the global leaders in the design, manufacture and distribution of branded home improvement and building products, Masco operates over 20 brands and has more than 80 manufacturing facilities globally.
The introduction of the role comes at a vital time as Masco seeks to drive growth and engagement across its portfolio.
Brad brings a commendable background to his new role
Despite the role being recently created, Brad is bringing almost two decades of marketing experience to Masco, having served as Senior Vice President, Global Brand, Experience & Design at Marriott International for a year.
Arguably among the most commendable roles Brad has taken on was achieved through spending more than 15 years at General Mills, where he progressed through senior brand leadership roles.
Joining initially as the Associate Marketing Manager in 2004, which he served for four years, Brad worked his way up to being appointed as General Mills’ Chief Marketing Officer in 2017 and spent a further four years with the company.
“Masco is home to an outstanding portfolio of trusted brands with tremendous opportunities for continued growth,” Brad comments. “I’m excited to partner with teams across the company to strengthen our brands, deepen customer understanding, accelerate commercial and digital capabilities and help create long-term value for our customers, consumers and shareholders.”
His reputation for combining consumer insights, innovation and growth strategy to major consumer brands will continue to strengthen during his time at Masco and bring a fresh, more sophisticated perspective to the brand.
Introducing new roles signifies a change in direction for Masco
Masco is expanding their leadership team to align with the increasing demand to keep its brand visible in a competitive industry. The new role reflects its continued focus on strengthening the capabilities that drive long-term growth across its portfolio of trusted brands.
Jon Nudi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Masco shares his optimism to Brad joining his team and comments: “Brad is an exceptional leader with a proven ability to build iconic brands while helping organisations transform how they grow.”
Masco will benefit from their appointment of a CMO through the increased ability to enhance commercial effectiveness and create long-term value across the company, which is exactly what its new CMO specialises in.
Jon adds: “[Brad's] combination of strategic vision, commercial leadership and customer-first thinking makes him the ideal leader to help strengthen our capabilities and accelerate Masco’s next phase of growth.”
Announcing a new role yet hiring a leader with over two decades of experience in building a brand signifies that Masco has immediate plans to sharpen its portfolio and continue to put its customers at the forefront of every executive decision.
