Google Cloud Appoints Chief Marketing Officer Amid AI Growth
Google Cloud has named a new Chief Marketing Officer.
Stephanie Buscemi, formerly Chief Marketing Officer of Confluent, has been appointed to lead marketing at Google Cloud, working closely alongside Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian and Lorraine Twohill, Googleâs Chief Marketing Officer.
She succeeds Alison Wagonfeld, who left Google Cloud after close to ten years as its Chief Marketing Officer to become NVIDIAâs first-ever CMO.
âI am absolutely thrilled to welcome Stephanie Buscemi to the team to lead Marketing for Google Cloud!â says Lorraine.
âItâs fitting that Stephanie brings the full stack of experience to this role â leadership through tech platform shifts, a track record scaling huge enterprise businesses, the ability to cut through industry noise and a relentless focus on driving impact and outcomes for customers.â
Marketing and technology leadership experience
Stephanie joins Google Cloud after more than five years at Confluent, where she was the companyâs Chief Marketing Officer.
As CMO, she led and scaled the companyâs global marketing, developer relations and technology strategy, among other responsibilities, to help drive the companyâs wider mission to âredefine data infrastructureâ.
Between March 2022 and December 2025, she also held additional responsibilities as President and Board Member for Confluent.org.
Before joining Confluent, Stephanie spent nearly seven years at Salesforce â first joining the company as a Senior Vice President of Marketing, Analytics Cloud, before progressing to the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, which she held for two and a half years.
- Alison Wagonfeld served as Google Cloudâs Chief Marketing Officer for almost ten years before leaving to join NVIDIA.
- During her time at Confluent, Stephanie Buscemi led the company's global marketing, developer relations and technology strategy.
- Nearly 90% of Fortune 100 companies already use Gemini Enterprise.
- 80% of Google Cloud customers currently use its AI products.
- Google Cloud grew its revenue by 82% year-over-year in the last quarter.
Google Cloudâs AI growth
According to Stephanie, part of the reason she chose to join Google Cloud was because of the significant advancements the company has made in AI.
âGoogle has spent more than a decade building the answer across every layer of AI: infrastructure and TPUs, data, security and Gemini,â she says. âEnterprises don't get production-grade AI from stitching together point solutions. They get it from a stack built to work together, end to end.
âNearly 90% of the Fortune 100 already use Gemini Enterprise, and 80% of Google Cloud customers use its AI products today. The opportunity now is translating that power into absolute clarity for every enterprise buyer.
âThat's the job I'm taking. Not more volume in an already loud category. Clarity, and the discipline to keep a customer's outcomes at the centre of everything we do.â

Last quarter, Google Cloud grew its revenue by 82% year-over-year, while operating income grew to US$8.8bn – a surge largely driven by enterprise demand for AI infrastructure.
“The opportunity ahead for enterprise is extraordinary, and we’re only at the beginning,” says Lorraine. “I can’t wait to work closely with Stephanie and Thomas Kurian on this next chapter, seeing what’s possible when we fully unlock the promise of AI for businesses at scale. Welcome to Google, Stephanie, let’s get to work!”
