Equinix’s new CMO to Lead Global AI Positioning and Strategy

Following an exceptionally strong second quarter, digital infrastructure company Equinix has named Dhritiman 'DD' Dasgupta as its Chief Marketing Officer. He succeeds Adam Berlew in the role.
Dhritiman spent more than two years as Vice President of Product Marketing at Equinix, before taking on the Chief Marketing Officer role. Reporting to Chief Customer and Revenue Officer (CCRO) Shane Paladin, he will focus on translating the company’s infrastructure portfolio into a clear marketing strategy for enterprises looking to scale their AI capabilities.
Dhritiman said of his appointment: “As businesses are navigating the rapidly evolving infrastructure they need to meet the growing demands of AI, there has never been a more exciting time to be at the centre of these innovations.”
Tech and marketing leadership experience
Dhritiman’s experience spans more than 25 years of networking, SaaS, servers, storage, cloud, observability and security. Prior to his role with Equinix, he led product management and marketing for Cisco’s data centre portfolio. He also served as the founding CMO for Avi Networks, supporting the company’s growth from an early-development phase to a successful acquisition by VMware.
Commenting on the appointment, Shane said: “DD has an extensive background in infrastructure and networking at a time when customers are navigating the significant shifts needed for the era of AI inference.
“He deeply understands what enterprises need as they modernise their infrastructure and expand into AI, and how Equinix, as the neutral exchange they trust to run, connect and orchestrate their digital business, is uniquely positioned to help them get there.”
I am excited to continue advancing our work to deliver the most innovative and useful infrastructure for the more than 10,000 customers we serve.”
Scaling AI infrastructure marketing
Dhritiman’s new role comes at a time of major efforts by Equinix to become the core infrastructure provider for AI, following a highly successful Q2 of growth for the company. Equinix reported an 11% growth in monthly recurring revenue, a record 9,700 net interconnections added in a single quarter and 52 expansion projects underway across 33 global markets.
In September 2026, it announced new services aimed at reducing the complexity of AI infrastructure for enterprises.
Dhritiman said: “Enterprises are moving from AI pilots to full deployment, and interconnecting with more clouds, AI providers, partners and locations than ever before.
“Equinix is uniquely positioned to help them thrive through its trusted, neutral exchanges. I am excited to continue advancing our work to deliver the most innovative and useful infrastructure for the more than 10,000 customers we serve.”
The company has also partnered with CPP Investments to complete a US$4bn acquisition of atNorth in a strategic effort to scale across the Nordic region – a prime location for AI-ready data centres owing to its sustainable energy profile and advanced technology ecosystem.

Who are Equinix's key partners?
- Microsoft: Microsoft integrates its Azure infrastructure directly into Equinix data centres through Azure ExpressRoute. This helps multinational organisations to establish private, high-speed network connections while bypassing the unpredictable public internet entirely. Consequently, joint clients gain enhanced hybrid cloud performance, remarkably low network latency and robust data security across key international commercial markets.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): Delivering direct access to cloud infrastructure, AWS relies heavily on the Equinix platform to host AWS Direct Connect locations globally. This allows shared enterprise customers to bypass public internet bottlenecks, establishing dedicated private links to their hybrid environments. Businesses drastically reduce overall bandwidth costs, optimise application responsiveness and simplify complex multicloud deployment strategies at global scale.
- Google Cloud: Google Cloud uses Equinix IBX data centres to power its Google Cloud Interconnect services worldwide. This provides users with private, low-latency connectivity to cloud compute services and advanced analytics tools. By minimising reliance on public connections, both partners ensure optimal operational uptime, tight network security and seamless enterprise workload migration.
- Accenture: Through strategic management consulting and systems integration, Accenture works alongside Equinix to accelerate digital transformation for global enterprise clients. Accenture helps large businesses design, architect and deploy hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions hosted within Equinix facilities. This joint approach enables multinational firms to modernise legacy operations, streamline complex IT architectures and rapidly adopt emerging technologies without disrupting critical core business services.
