DoorDash's NHL partnership can help the company tap into a highly engaged fanbase, says Gina Igwe, Vice President of Brand, Creative and Consumer Marketing

DoorDash and the National Hockey League (NHL) have announced a multi-year strategic partnership, naming DoorDash the Official On-Demand Delivery and Pick Up Partner of the NHL in Canada and the United States.

This will be DoorDash’s first partnership with the NHL.

As part of the agreement, DoorDash will gain a broad set of marketing rights and NHL designations – including the use of NHL marks, broadcast-visible branding during televised games, integrations across NHL events such as Discover NHL Winter Classic and the Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series, as well as a presence throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

“For tens of millions of hockey fans across North America, every night is appointment viewing. In Canada, hockey night is more than a game, it's a family ritual and a way fandom gets passed from one generation to the next,” says Gina Igwe, Vice President of Brand, Creative and Consumer Marketing at DoorDash

“As the NHL’s Official On-Demand Delivery and Pick Up Partner, DoorDash is proud to help fans spend less time managing meals, snacks, and last-minute needs, and more time in the moments that make game night matter. From puck drop to the final buzzer, we’re here to make it easier to be a fan.”

According to DoorDash, it plans to soon announce a new NHL creative platform across North America as part of the partnership.

DoorDash’s NHL campaign

DoorDash’s partnership with the NHL kicks off at the start of the season, with a dedicated DoorDash Puck Drop Promotion. This, DoorDash says, will be followed by game night deals for every Wednesday and Saturday over the course of the 2026-27 NHL season.

Alongside this, the company will be the presenting sponsor of all Wednesday night regular-season national NHL games and Stanley Cup Playoff games broadcast on Prime Video in Canada.

“NHL fans are fiercely loyal and passionate and happen to be some of the most active on-demand delivery consumers,” says Chris Falkiner, NHL Group Vice President of Business Development.

“DoorDash reaches thousands of communities across Canada and the United States, fuelling game night ordering for fans everywhere the League plays. We're excited to have DoorDash on board as our Official On-Demand Delivery and Pick Up Partner across both countries.”

A summer of sport

This follows DoorDash’s 2026 FIFA World Cup partnership, which spanned nine countries, and included participation from DoorDash brands Deliveroo and Wolt.

As part of the partnership, DoorDash released its ‘Deliver us to Futbol’ campaign, which featured spot appearances from Ricardo Kaká, Alex Morgan and Khaby Lame.
