Disney Partners With TikTok to Grow Verts Audience

The Walt Disney Company and TikTok have announced a global short-form content sharing deal to offer audiences and consumers new ways to discover and create content using Disney IP.
This agreement will pilot in the US over the course of the coming months, with other markets planned to follow, and will bring a curated collection of Disney-based fan content from TikTok to the Disney+ app.
Short-form content from creators involved in the programme will be seen on both TikTok and Verts – Disney’s vertical-style video feed – and feature character stories from Disney brands.
“The best storytellers are fans first,” says Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer at The Walt Disney Company. “That has always been true at Disney, and today, fans are celebrating our stories in entirely new ways. This collaboration creates a new bridge between the stories we tell and the creativity they inspire, giving creators a bigger stage to share what they’ve made, and audiences more to discover on Disney+ every day.”
Fan-created content drives audience growth
Fan-created content is playing an increasingly important role in the ways audiences discover and engage with their entertainment. In fact, research from PwC and the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IBA) has found that creator content is growing faster than the overall ad market.
TikTok is at the heart of this growth. According to internal data from the company, users shared an average of 6.5 million film and TV-related posts on TikTok each day in 2025 – which it says highlights the “depth and daily momentum” of entertainment fandom on its platform.
Nearly half of surveyed viewers also said they went to watch a movie or TV show on a streaming service or television after discovering entertainment on TikTok, suggesting that this is a highly engaged, high-intent audience.
“Creators are at the heart of everything we do at TikTok. Their creativity extends the life of films and shows into conversations that fans discover and share,” says Dawn Yang, Global Head of Entertainment at TikTok. “Together with Disney, we’re bringing the authentic creator expression of the TikTok community to Disney+, inviting audiences to experience the shared creativity that makes fandom so powerful.”
Short-form content at Disney
Disney’s ‘Verts’ feed was first launched in March 2026 within the existing Disney+ app, which currently allows users to swipe through short clips and scenes from movies and shows, helping improve product discovery amongst users.
This latest partnership may help the Verts platform more effectively engage with younger audiences, and lead them toward Disney content.
To ensure the platform has the best chance of growth, the company is looking to incentivise leading creators on TikTok. Thise who opt in to the programme will be offered special rewards, such as increased visibility by both TikTok and Disney, access to exclusive events and even career development pathways through a tiered programme. According to Disney, this move reflects its commitment to building relationships with the next generation of creative talent.
