Discord Launches Two New Advertisement Features for Brands

29 September marked the official announcement of two new products launched to expand access to Discordâs advertising platform â âDiscord Ads Managerâ and âVideo Quests.â
As gaming continues to become a critical channel for marketers, âDiscord Ads Managerâ aims to connect advertisers to the platformâs audience of 90 million daily active users.
The service will also present more accessible advertising to all businesses, regardless of size, while still delivering measurable results. This opens up opportunities for smaller marketers who previously needed a direct relationship with the sales team in order to advertise on the platform.
Nabib El-Rahman, Discordâs Vice President of Product, Business, says: âWe want advertising on Discord to work for a studio launching its first game just as well as it does for the worldâs biggest advertisers.â
Giving control to marketers
Ads Manager is Discordâs first self-serve campaign management platform that brings features like performance reporting and objective-based bid building into a single tool.
âDiscord Ads Managerâ also aims to connect all advertisers to the platformâs audience of 90 million daily active users.
While consistently associated with PC use, the gaming-focused chat platform has steadily established its mobile capabilities, which will be enhanced by âVideo Questsâ designed to increase an adâs watch time.
Based on the brand’s initial launch of ‘Quests’ last year, which required users to watch an advert until completion in exchange for rewards, users will now only need to watch each ad for approximately 15 seconds to receive “orbs” – discord’s in-platform currency that can be spent on banners and cosmetic items.
Commenting on the new launch, Nabib adds: “Discord Ads Manager puts more control directly in advertisers’ hands, while Video Quests give performance marketers a format that turns attention into action through an experience that feels native to Discord.”

- Ads Manager is Discord's first self-serve campaign management tool, combining performance reporting and objective-based bid building, and it aims to reach the platform's 90 million daily active users.

- Discord's chat services are a core part of gaming's social side and allows user around the world to connect while playing various games.
Gaming enters the marketing chat
Two-thirds of Americans play video games, yet brands are only now beginning to push their services with in-game advertisements â and there is some catching up to do.
While not a video game itself, Discord is a core element in gamingâs social aspect, enabling users to interact with friends all over the world while playing hundreds of games.
Some brands have noticed the trend and leaned into the gaming market channel â in 2025, Walmart launched its own Minecraft Java server, known as Skyward. Jo Malone also experimented with product placement in Fortnite earlier this year, promoting its latest fragrance across a unique gaming map and embracing new market segments.
As marketing ushers into a new age, advertisers are needing to get creative with their strategies regardless of size. While Discord’s ‘Video Quests’ will run indefinitely, ‘Ads Manager’ is currently available with managed access for a select group of advertisers.
Its fully self-serve access is planned for early 2027.
