Accenture Appoints New CMO from Workday
Accenture has appointed a new Chief Marketing Officer.
Emma Chalwin will be taking on the role after three years as the Chief Marketing Officer of Workday, effective 1 October 2026.
Overseeing global marketing and communications organisations for the company, Emma will be filling a role that has sat empty since former Chief Marketing Officer Jill Kramer joined Mastercard in December 2025.
“There is so much about the opportunity that energises me,” Emma says. “The chance to build on one of the world’s most admired brands. To help drive growth and deepen client relationships. To work alongside incredible talent. And to help bring Accenture’s story of reinvention to life in a way that is bold, differentiated and deeply human.
“Because as AI changes almost everything about how we work and how businesses grow, I believe human connection matters more than ever.”
Turning breakthrough technologies into commercial value
Emma is joining Accenture from her role as Chief Marketing Officer of Workday, where she led the global marketing organisation, driving brand transformation to amplify the company’s promise of innovation, partnership and success globally.
In particular, she says this role involved being “dedicated” to empowering customers “to leverage AI as a catalyst for success”.
Julie Sweet, CEO of Accenture, said she was “delighted” to welcome Emma to the company, describing her as a “proven growth leader”, who “understands how to turn breakthrough technologies into compelling client value and commercial impact”.
Prior to Workday, Emma held senior marketing leadership roles at Salesforce, Adobe, McAfee and Macrovision – bringing more than 30 years of global marketing leadership experience to the role.
Through this experience, she has been widely recognised for her work in helping companies translate technology innovations into compelling marketing narratives, strengthening consumer engagement and building market relevance.
“Accenture is one of the world's most admired companies, and I am truly honoured to build on the legacy of its brand at a time when organisations are reimagining growth in the age of AI,” says Emma.
“This is an extraordinary opportunity to help shape Accenture’s next chapter of reinvention, building market influence, driving demand and deepening client relationships.
“I’m excited to harness the power of AI while keeping human connection at the heart of everything we do.”
This is an extraordinary opportunity to help shape Accenture’s next chapter of reinvention."
Accenture’s culture of reinvention
According to Julie, Emma will play a key role in marketing the company as it continues to build its brand identity around the culture of reinvention.
“As Accenture leads in the reinvention of business through AI, her [Emma’s] ability to connect brand, demand and sales will help us bring our innovation and the measurable results we deliver for clients to more organisations around the world,” Julie explains.
In late 2025, the company underwent an internal rebrand – naming its workforce ‘Reinventors’ as part of its strategy to adopt AI.
This involved merging the company’s strategy, consulting, technology and operations functions into one core business area, which it now refers to as its reinvention service.
At the time, Julie told Great Place to Work: “Being a reinventor is believing that every part of the enterprise and their product has to be reinvented using tech, data, AI – new ways of working, new ways of engaging.”
