Supporting athletes through sponsorship
The partnership with the LA28 Games is a strong fit for the JPMorgan brand, with the firm having had a presence in Los Angeles for more than 135 years.
In LA, the company has more than 330 retail branches, where it serves five million consumer banking clients and 589,000 small business clients.
The company says it has āhelped create economic opportunity,ā in the area during that time, by ācreating jobs, supporting businesses and helping families thriveā.
This partnership is an extension of that work, with the company developing initiatives alongside wider Olympic promotion to strengthen the Olympic and Paralympic athletes' long-term financial health.
This includes holistically supporting Olympians through financial health workshops through the International Olympic Committee's Athlete365 platform, which acts as a community for elite athletes, offering resources for career transitions, career and health.
Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, says of the partnership: āWe are honoured to be a Worldwide Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, supporting athletes, fans, businesses and communities around the globe.
āOlympians and Paralympians are more than athletes ā they are our customers, clients and employees, and their dreams extend beyond the Games. We bank the communities they call home, finance the facilities where they train, help them start businesses and plan for their futures. Their journeys reflect the aspirations of millions we serve every day, and weāre excited to support them.ā
Engaging Olympic audiences
Alongside this partnership, JPMorgan Chase is also investing in a partnership with NBCUniversal, designed to support the company’s multi-platform coverage of the LA28 Games.
This partnership will involve highlighting competitions and athlete journeys in “new and exciting ways,” to improve engagement.
“LA28 represents one of the most powerful stages in sports, posing a onceāināaāgeneration opportunity – and partnering with JPMorganChase ensures we bring the games to viewers with unmatched scale, innovation and purpose,” says Mark Marshall, Chairman, Global Advertising & Partnerships at NBCUniversal. “JPMorganChase’s leadership across banking, community impact and global sport makes them an essential partner and together, we’ll deliver a multiāplatform storytelling experience that elevates the Games and inspires viewers.”
